Knives for using

We make knives for using in different sizes, using reindeer antler. The lenght of the blades variates 6- 9,5 cm. The blade is made from carbon steel. The handle is made of birch burl or pussy willow and reindeer antler. The bottom of the handle is made of reindeer antler and the leather component is sewed by hand. The case is decorated by traditional carwing method or burn-drawed. It is possible to decorate the case by your choice and it´s including the price. Price will be determined by the lenght of the blade.

Collection knives, fully made of antler

We make knives for collectors using reindeer stag antler. The blades are special blades, as damask etc. The handles are manually carved using the very old technique: Using the other knife`s blade. Each knife is unique, as we all are.

Chandeliers from antler

We prepare the chandeliers from large sized reindeer stag antlers. There is only a few percent this kind of reindeers and being able to get this kind of antler changes repeatedly in each year. In addition, for the chandelier it needs to be exact shaped antler to be able to joint the light source in it.

Leather items

Reindeer leather is resilient and hard material. It´s timeless substance: Pending the time, the leather becomes covered by beautiful patina. We produce satchels, bags, small bags for coffee, salt, sugar and moreover many kind of leather bags. Unique window binds belongs to our selection too. We take orders in: if you have something special on your mind, please don´t hesitate to give us a mail or a call! Forexample, we have made vests, anoraks, menus, menus for weddings and diplomas from reindeer leather. Reindeer leather is many-sides material!

Scoops and cups

Picture attached shows cups for salt and sugar. They are made of birch and reindeer antler. The cup includes antler spoon. We have retraced old and very traditional Naappu-cup for form of the cups. Naappu was used for milking the reindeer: The edges were inwards so the milk didn´t split over during the milking semi-wild, constantly moving reindeer.

Traditional drum from Lapland

We use reindeer raw leather in traditional Lapland drums. The raw leather is tied up by manually stitching in a mould, which is made of birch or pine tree.  We use only natural vegetable colours for dying the leather. The ornaments we paint are hundreds of years old, traditional patterns. Each drum is unique. The height scales between 10 - 100 cm.

Necklaces and pendants

We manufacture different kinds of necklaces and pendants in our workshop. By using the unique material is a quarantee to produce the unique products as well. We apply the string from waxed linen or reindeer leather. Our collection consists necklaces, earrings, bracelets and brooches.

Spoons made of antler

We make traditional spoons from reindeer antler. We use ancient spoon models from Inari, Western Lapland and Utsjoki as a example. We desire to preserve this beautiful item to exist. The spoon is a hand carved. Picture attached shows spoons from Inari (left) and West Lapland (right) which is included a beautiful old story.

Artworks and tales

"I use natural materials from Lapland in my artwork. Using ecological materials, as leather, antler and wool, I want to underline sustainable evolution. Also, using natural materials deliberately is import matter to me. The nature is the inspiration of my tales. I believe that stories helps us to understand the outline of reality by opening our minds towards to the past, to the future and to  un familiar cultures." Irene Kangasniemi.

Peek in our workshop and crap the tools! You will get acquainted with natural material of Lapland with our help. You´ll perceive the large scale of the nice items made on these materials. You´ll have a option to accumulate your handicraft skills guided by professional art teacher, Irene. At the end of the workshop you´ll have a beautiful self-made homecoming gift as a memory of your visit.

Interior design

We hold sturdy experience  decorating private homes, cottages, huts as well as public enviroments. During the years we have made interior designing to restaurants, hotels and private holiday apartments all over in Finland. Our style breaths The Spirit of Lapland, cause we both have raised in Lapland, we work daily around the materials we get from the nature and our home stands in the middle of the Lapland´s nature.
