Responsible tourism

We do long term work to preserve traditional Lappish handicrafts. In our work, we use traditional natural materials used in Lapland crafts. We acquire reindeer antler directly from reindeer herders. We buy birch and goat willow burls from forestry professionals. We collect deadwood from logging residues with the landowner´s permission.

We offer our customers storytelling-based handicraft programs. Lapland is filled with stories about the survival of people, fauna and flora through the seasons. These tales have been told from generation to generation through words, images, songs and texts. Also objects have their silent tales to tell.

In our program services, customers use only natural materials. We share with our visitors the Lappish way of life that respects nature- how we live, how we build and our food culture. Our programs want to remind the importance of a good relationship with nature and to show that nature can teach us. We want to represent old Lapland culture, where mutual respect for nature is at the core.

To demonstrate our commitment to responsibility we have decided to certify our operations with the Good Travel Seal responsibility certificate and to apply for the STF label.
